Welcome to Sri Lanka! After arriving in Negombo, settle into Pledge Escape and prepare for an evening food crawl. Discover the city’s vibrant culinary scene with dishes like Kottu Roti and Dolphin Roti, showcasing Sri Lankan Muslim cuisine influenced by Malay and Arab traditions.

 

Day 01 – Negombo

Day 02 – Anuradhapura

Journey north through coconut plantations and learn about Arrack production, Sri Lanka’s signature spirit. Visit a local family to cook traditional dishes like Negombo Prawn Curry. Later, continue to Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka’s historic first capital, and unwind at Livin Lush.

Start your day at Anuradhapura’s sacred Sri Maha Bodhi tree before heading to Jaffna. Immerse yourself in the northern region’s vibrant culture and cuisine, experiencing its distinct flavors while staying at Jetwing Jaffna.

Day 03 – Jaffna

Explore Jaffna’s bustling market and savor freshly made dosas and vadas. Visit the historic Nallur Temple and indulge in local culinary delights like Jaffna Crab Curry and the famous Rio Ice Cream before returning to Jetwing Jaffna for the night.

Day 04 – Jaffna

Travel south through lush landscapes to the iconic Sigiriya Rock Fortress. Explore its ancient frescoes, water gardens, and the stunning views from atop this “Eighth Wonder of the World” before relaxing at Sigiriyuana by Thilanka.

Day 05 – Dambulla

Spend the morning at a local farm, learning traditional agriculture techniques and preparing a rice and curry lunch with a local family. In the afternoon, enjoy a jeep safari in Minneriya National Park to spot wild elephants. Return to Sigiriyuana by Thilanka for the night.

Day 06 – Dambulla

Visit a spice garden in Matale before arriving in Kandy. In the evening, join a local family to make traditional dishes such as string hoppers and creamy potato curry, then rest at Hotel Thilanka.

Day 07 – Kandy

Begin your day at the sacred Temple of the Tooth Relic and witness its spiritual rituals. Later, enjoy a guided city walk sampling street food like Hoppers, blending culinary flavors with cultural heritage. End the day at Hotel Thilanka.

Day 08 – Kandy

Travel to Colombo, starting with a visit to the colorful Pettah Bazaar. Explore the city’s landmarks while savoring traditional dishes like Lamprais and Love Cake at the VOC Dutch Cafe. Spend your evening at Granbell Hotel.

Day 09 – Colombo

Continue your culinary exploration of Colombo with a guided food tour, delving into local street food and contemporary dining experiences. Return to Granbell Hotel for your final evening in Sri Lanka.

 

Day 10 – Colombo

Before heading to the airport, make a stop at a local supermarket to shop for Sri Lankan spices and condiments. These treasures will allow you to recreate the flavors of your journey at home, leaving you with lasting memories of Sri Lanka’s culinary adventure.
